Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medication administration, acute care, and pediatrics, as well as a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.

Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including compounding when necessary.

Provide medication counseling to patients and their families regarding proper usage and potential side effects.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.

Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication regimens as needed.

Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and administered.

Educate healthcare staff on medical terminology and medication-related issues.

Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Pharmacy (BSc. Pharm.) degree from an accredited institution.

Active pharmacist license in the province of Alberta.

Experience in acute care settings preferred; OAT experience is a plus.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.

Pay: $60.00-$70.00 per hour
