Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Operations Engineering Northern Corridor DepartmentJob Post End Date: 09/12/2024About this opportunity:The Conventional Operations Team is looking to fill a Calgary-based Staff Operations Engineering role for the conventional business. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Conventional Operations Engineering, this highly dynamic role has primary accountability for key aspects of the P&L, is responsible for the development and implementation of the base asset strategy for value maximization, and is responsible for all aspects of Operations Engineering, troubleshooting and technical support through the well production and field facilities disciplines to achieve a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:Promote safety as a core value and champion Process Safety in design, operation, and as a key stakeholder in PSE response.Oversee all aspects of P&L for the geographic area, including production, operating costs, and capital, while collaborating with area Foremen to achieve business and safety goals.Provide technical infrastructure, design, and process engineering support, including hydraulic pipeline modeling, compressor evaluations, and wellbore troubleshooting.Lead engineering support for repairs, mechanical alterations, and new equipment installations as part of the Management of Change process.Act as a subject matter expert and mentor within the team, providing technical, financial, and business guidance.Accountable for project scoping, design, cost estimating, and economic analysis, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and prudent financial management.Contribute to resource development plans, including infrastructure, cost assumptions, and facility design for critical growth areas.Ensure compliance with wellbores, pipelines, and facilities regulations, including inactive well compliance, licensing, and GHG monitoring.Who you are:Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Professional Engineer sanctioned by APEGA with ability to authenticate mechanical engineering deliverables.Fifteen or more years of relevant operations, facility, and production engineering experience.Knowledge and application of frequently used codes (ASME B31.3, CSA Z662 etc.).Working knowledge of upstream oil and gas industry and facility design.Strong communication skills with an ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams including Field Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, Finance, Commercial, Marketing and external companies.Must be able to multi-task effectively and manage competing deadlines.Strong operations troubleshooting skills with an ability to make timely and consistent decisions on a broad variety of topics.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT Sept 11, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We\xe2\x80\x99re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
