About this opportunity:

Cenovus is looking for a Staff Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to support our Canadian Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) assets. Reporting to the Maintenance Readiness Manager, this position will be accountable to develop and implement maintenance strategies to mitigate the risk of equipment failure.

The position will be accountable for managing the external engineering, procurement, and construction vendor generating the equipment lists, criticality, critical sparing, preventative maintenance plans, preventative maintenance task lists, and bill of materials for capital projects.

This position can be based out of Calgary or Lloydminster (travel to field sites will be required).

Responsibilities:

Lead or support equipment Criticality Analysis and gap closure.

Liaison with capital projects, construction, and commissioning.

Review capital project packages and clearly define maintenance scope for each project.

Manage the external engineering, procurement, and construction vendor generating the asset management data.

Audit the asset management data generated by the EPC for capital projects. This includes equipment list, criticality, critical sparing, preventative maintenance plans, preventative maintenance task lists, and bill of materials.

Support data collection according to Cenovus data standards.

Utilize Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) tools and processes to develop risk-based asset management strategies for new facilities and/or major expansions.

Analyze existing maintenance strategies and KPI\xe2\x80\x99s to determine opportunity for improvements and support or lead gap closure.

Provide expertise in development of equipment bill of materials and identifying critical & operating spare inventory.

Lead equipment hierarchy and asset data development from small & large projects

Support Process Safety Critical equipment identification and develops Maintenance Programs in alignment with SCE performance standards.

Support mass loading asset management data from capital projects into SAP.

Support the development of job aids and training materials to enhance knowledge and utilization of SAP PM Module.

Support the development and reporting of M&R KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and dashboards including maintaining master data in an accurate and timely manner to ensure validity of the KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.

Support the development of standards and processes that set the minimum requirements for Canadian Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) maintenance, reliability, and turnarounds.

Deliverables:

Standard Functional Location and equipment hierarchy

Risk based equipment criticalities

Standardize and optimize equipment maintenance strategies

Standardize and optimize maintenance plans

Equipment bill of materials and recommended inventory levels

Qualifications:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation with APEGA or Professional Technologist designation with Alberta.

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or Engineering technologist diploma.

Minimum 12 years\xe2\x80\x99 Engineering experience in an industrial setting/facility (oil and gas industry is preferred).

5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Maintenance and reliability engineering

5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Project Engineering and EPC management

Experience in large facility operating environments, preferably upstream Thermal (SAGD) facilities, and ideally working in or directly with maintenance and operations teams.

Knowledge and experience with safe work practices accompanied by a superior safety attitude.

CMRP/MMP/PMP designation would be considered an asset

Familiarity with industry standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management

Strong knowledge of SAP PM module

Change management experience in collaboration with multiple stakeholders

Valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
