Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for one (1), full-time, forty (40) hours per week, Staff Educator

The Staff Educator works collaboratively with the Senior Learning & Development Specialist, the Learning & Development team, and other stakeholders to support the delivery of mandatory training for Agency employees. The primary role of the Staff Educator is to deliver in-person and virtual training in several core curricular areas, including but not limited to: core Agency-wide mandatory training (e.g. Confidentiality & Privacy, Ethical Decision Making, Professional Boundaries) and role-specific mandatory training (e.g. Standard and Emergency First Aid, NVCI, Mental Health First Aid). This role also assists in learning needs identification, course evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of course content and delivery methods. In addition, the Staff Educator acts as an advocate and expert resource for other Agency trainers on best practices in training delivery.

Education and Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Education, Human Services)

Certification in Adult Learning, Group Facilitation or as a Master Instructor is an asset

An equivalent combination or education and experience may be considered

3-5 years experience teaching in-person and/or virtual courses and workshops

Experience in a frontline or supervisory social services role is an asset

Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or City Police

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies and tools

Demonstrated teaching and group facilitation skills

Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills

Ability to motivate and inspire learners

Ability to adjust teaching methods/approach as needed

Ability to effectively use MS Teams or similar software to deliver effective virtual training

Effective relationship building skills

Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking and skills

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently in a team environment

High level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy.

Capacity to work with members of many different faiths and cultural backgrounds
