We're on the lookout for a sharp-minded, detail-driven financial pro to take the reins as our Staff Accountant / Payroll Specialist, supporting both The Pera Group (TPG) and Old Yale Brewing (OYB). If spreadsheets are your playground and precision is your superpower, you might be just who we need.
In this role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of financial functions--from managing payroll with accuracy and care, to ensuring compliance and delivering reliable reporting that helps keep our operations running smoothly. You'll be a key player in maintaining our financial health and contributing to the continued success of TPG and OYB.

Key Responsibilities
Performing and completing review procedures over the daily functions of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial transactions.
Preparing and processing salary and hourly payroll.
Handling time and attendance and payroll inquiries.
Managing year-end payroll processes and reporting.
Distributing monthly budget reports and assisting with analyzing and reporting on actual and budget variances.
Assisting in the preparation of the monthly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
Assisting in documentation and implementation of internal control procedures.
Assisting in the preparation of reports as required by law, regulations, or company policies.
Other tasks and duties as required.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
CPA designation is an asset.
Experience in a payroll role is required.
Strong understanding of labour standards is required.
Experience in a brewing or beverage industry is considered an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft suite of products and QuickBooks.
Experience with EKOS (brewing software) and Payworks (payroll) is considered an asset.
Excellent technical and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Communicates strategically and efficiently, both written and verbally.
Strong track record of managing full-cycle accounting operations.
Proven ability to multi-task and have a "roll-up the sleeves" mentality.
Ability to establish good working relationships, both internally and with external stakeholders
