Job Description

Our firm is growing, and are looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a professional who can work independently, with a positive attitude and good client relations (interpersonal) skills. They will have, or develop over time leadership and management skills to subsequently train and mentor junior staff.

Our firm is registered for the training of CPA students.

Responsibilities include:

Preparation of Personal (T1) and Corporate (T2) tax returns Assembly of working papers for corporate year-ends (Compilation Engagements) Preparation of Financial Statements Preparation of bookkeeping where appropriate, including GST|HST Returns Respond to client and CRA queries in a timely, professional manner Identify and communicate potential tax savings scenarios where appropriate Ability to manage priorities and deadlines Other duties as assigned

Experience:

QuickBooks - required Microsoft Office - required Caseware/Caseview - strongly preferred Professional tax software such as Profile and/or TaxPrep - strongly preferred Previous experience at an accounting firm - preferred

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
