Job Summary

We are a dynamic firm located in south Edmonton seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in public practice performing review and other assurance engagements, and possesses a solid understanding of personal and corporate tax. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Duties

Prepare and financial statements engagements, including review engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. Prepare personal and corporate tax returns. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Utilize CaseWare, QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting software for efficient record-keeping and reporting. Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

4-year undergraduate degree (accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred). CPA designation, or recent successful completion of the CFE. 3+ years of public accounting experience. Proficiency in CaseWare, QuickBooks Online, and the Microsoft Suite of applications. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account analysis. Ability to perform bank reconciliations effectively. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration within the team.

Experience with cloud-based accounting tools Knowledge of GST filing and payroll compliance Familiarity with CRA pre- and post-assessment reviews
