The Opportunity
Your Role Will Include
As a Staff Accountant, you will be working with the accounting team in managing multiple infrastructure assets across Canada and USA. You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting for various projects including but not limited to transaction accounting, posting entries, processing invoices, AP, AR, and account reconciliations. You will get the opportunity to learn and grow with the firm including financial modeling and contract management.
Key responsibilities:
Record keeping and general ledger maintenance, including accurately preparation of sales invoices, tracking incoming payments, supplier statements.
Posting monthly journal entries with a focus on accuracy and compliance and account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data.
Month and quarter end close, preparation of respect
Assist in producing monthly and quarterly financial statements and month end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance to Project requirements.
Assist in preparing year-end audit working papers and liaison with external auditors.
Work as part of a supportive, team-oriented environment, assisting with accounting tasks and learning from experienced team members.
Other duties as required
Requirements:
Minimum of one year accounting experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluent in English (and French preferably)
Working towards a Canadian or US CPA Designation
