Full Time, Probationary, Health Recovery Facilitator - Success in School Coach
for a work assignment with
Student Services.
More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.
Hours of Work
:
35.0hrs. /week; 7.0hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary
Hourly Rate:
$37.22 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
Position Overview:
HRF: Success in School Coach Position
Supports First Nations, Metis, or Inuit students to honour identity, belonging, resilience, while empowering youth to navigate school, set goals and build confidence for their future.
Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:
Support students in goal-setting and building self-confidence.
Provide mentorship, encouragement, and guidance to help students achieve their potential.
Assist students in developing personalized success plans for academic and personal growth.
Build relational connections with students and foster positive, supportive interactions.
Support foundational learning about culture and connect students with school/division cultural leaders and resources.
Assist with academic transitions and build skills such as time management, study planning, and problem-solving.
Connect students with school resources and support self-advocacy.
Collaborate with counsellors, teachers, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or degree in a related field.
Relational, compassionate, and a good listener.
Positive, possibility-oriented thinker.
Strong ability to build trusting relationships and support students' personal growth.
Minimum 3+ years related experience
Knowledge of educational, developmental psychology and behavior management required
Previous experience working with students with mental health and/or emotional behavioral disabilities required.
