THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) Financial Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and taxation, with specific expertise in managing SR&ED claims. This role involves working closely with clients to identify eligible projects, prepare the necessary documentation, and maximize the SR&ED tax credits available to them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with clients to identify eligible SR&ED activities and expenses.
Prepare and review SR&ED tax credit claims, ensuring compliance with CRA guidelines.
Conduct client interviews to gather detailed information on SR&ED projects.
Provide ongoing advisory services to clients to optimize future SR&ED claims.
Analyze financial data to determine eligible SR&ED expenses.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to SR&ED activities.
Work closely with accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure all SR&ED claims are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
Work with technical consultants to understand the scope of SR&ED projects.
Coordinate with internal teams to streamline the SR&ED claim process.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally candidates will meet all job requirements listed below:
1 or more years in preparing SR&ED tax credit claims. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
Professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Proven ability to multi-task and satisfy multiple client deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in financial software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word,).
Language of work is English
Outstanding oral communication skills including an ability to draw out development obstacles our clients have faced, and discuss in technical terms, advancements our clients have made.
