THE OPPORTUNITY
As a SR&ED Technical Consultant, you will be working with industry leaders in technology and finance from all over Western Canada. You will be responsible for identifying R&D and preparing clear, well-structured technical reports, giving innovators the opportunity to access government funding under SR&ED guidelines.
For this role, we are especially seeking someone with the ability to write strong technical narratives in the manufacturing sector. You will need to quickly understand how new technologies and processes are being developed in manufacturing, and translate that information into accurate, compliant documentation that supports funding claims.
Applicants should be comfortable engaging with technical experts across a variety of disciplines, asking the right questions to uncover key details, and distilling complex technical content into concise, compliant reports. This is an ideal role for someone with a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, strong technical writing skills, and a desire to work with innovative companies across Canada. Candidates with previous SR&ED experience--whether in writing reports, reviewing technical eligibility, or working with SR&ED consultants--are strongly encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct interviews with technical teams to understand project objectives, challenges, and experimental development.
Analyze technical documentation to assist with claim preparation to assess SR&ED eligibility
Distinguish routine work from eligible experimental development based on SR&ED guidelines
Organize technical findings into compliant, concise reports while adhering to established conventions for claim preparation
Collaborate with internal teams to determine eligible SR&ED expenses
Support clients during CRA technical reviews
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by providing high-quality, consultative service
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field
Previous SR&ED experience (e.g., writing reports, assessing technical eligibility, or working in SR&ED consulting) is highly preferred
1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial technology roles, or in technical writing for manufacturing processes
Ability to analyze production methods, process improvements, and experimental trials in a manufacturing context
Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to translate complex manufacturing concepts into clear, compliant documentation
Strong verbal communication and interviewing skills for engaging with engineers, production managers, and technical staff
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and technical documentation tools (experience with SharePoint an asset)
Excellent analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional collaboration
