JOB OVERVIEW



Under the supervision of Technical and Development Manager, the successful candidate will support the training program for FTAI (propulsion, repair center, ESH, quality and other departments requiring training. This includes the proactive identification of training needs (needs assessment), reactive training (lessons learned), on-the-job training management and coordination, and some course delivery of the training program.

Responsibilities:

Training Delivery & Facilitation*
+ Hands-on and Classroom Delivery: Deliver and facilitate interactive workshops, theoretical classroom sessions, and practical hands-on training focused on engine components and fundamental maintenance modules.
+ Learner-Centric Approach: Apply effective facilitation techniques and a learner-focused approach to reinforce complex concepts, compliance standards, and systematic thinking, ensuring maximum technician comprehension.
+ Resource Management: Prepare the training environment by ensuring all necessary training aids, tools, equipment, and materials are available for scheduled sessions.

Competency Assessment Support*
+ Assessment Administration: Administer and score training assessments and readiness evaluations, documenting trainee performance accurately and in line with established procedures.
+ Progress Monitoring: Track trainee progress through technical learning paths, report completion status, and identify individuals requiring additional support or intervention.
+ SME Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Shop Floor Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure smooth training execution and accurate representation of shop floor practices.

Content Feedback & Professionalism*
+ Technical Currency: Maintain a solid working knowledge of engine components, maintenance procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., MPM, CARS, CAAC).
+ Content Feedback: Provide timely, objective feedback to the Instructional Designer regarding clarity, flow, accuracy, and effectiveness of training content and materials.
+ Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and clear communication when engaging with trainees, SMEs, and management.

Certification & Impartial Assessment Oversight*
+ Final Assessment Authority: Supervise and co-sign all technical training assessments and readiness evaluations for specialized module qualifications. This ensures objectivity and impartiality in the certification process, removing potential bias from shop floor relationships.
+ SME Oversight: Supervise and guide the experienced Shop Floor SMEs who conduct the hands-on, day-to-day practical training delivery, ensuring adherence to standardized training procedures.
+ Competency Validation: Validate the final competence of technicians in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing the ultimate sign-off for module qualification readiness.

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement Advisory*
+ Technical Currency: Maintain absolute currency in complex module knowledge, technical requirements, standards, and regulatory changes (e.g., MPM updates, CARS/CAAC).
+ Advisory Role: Proactively advise L&D and management on any new or modified technical requirements, providing expert direction on necessary training adjustments.

Training Center Operations*
+ Training Environment Oversight: Oversee all activities, tools, and equipment requirements within the technical training center, ensuring the environment is safe, compliant, and accurately simulates the operational shop floor.

Qualifications:Minimum 5 years' experience as trainer or lead experience. Diploma in a technical field related to aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) setting or a Bachelor s degree in an applicable field will be an asset. Ability to perform core technical tasks related to engine module maintenance, such as competency in module teardown, inspection, and build-up. Broad knowledge of and experience in industrial-based skills, Knowledge of aviation regulations and requirements Aviation technical experience. Knowledge of instructional techniques Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision Able to work in a team environment Able to focus on the development of others Proficient in French and English
