ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently hiring for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Corporate Tax team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Tax, as the Sr. Tax Analyst you\'ll be responsible for the preparation of tax returns and income tax provisions, managing audits by various taxation authorities, performing research, and providing tax advice to the business.
This is a full-time salaried position based at our head office in Downtown Calgary with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement (days in the office and days at home).
WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare all quarterly and annual income tax provisions
  • Coordinate US corporate and partnership return filings with outside tax advisors
  • Prepare Canadian income tax returns and other related filings
  • Support the preparation of the Canadian tax filings and compliance requirements for the company\xe2\x80\x99s foreign investments
  • Working closely with the finance team to ensure the accuracy of the tax provisions
  • Coordinate and assist with the Scientific Research and Development filing
  • Assist with the preparation of the Canadian indirect tax returns
  • Assist in the review and analysis of budgeting and long-range forecasting processes for current and deferred taxes
  • Contribute to tax planning and reorganization initiatives
  • Assist with tax audits by Federal and Provincial income tax authorities and resolving any audit related issues, including preparing and maintaining supporting documentation for government audits
  • Respond to tax inqueries and provide support to internal operations and finance personnel; and
  • Assist with various other tax related matters and special projects as required.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Business/Accounting degree or equivalent
  • CPA designation and completion of the CPA Canada in-depth tax course
  • Minimum 7 years of corporate tax experience
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • US tax experience is an asset
  • Self-motivated exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven organization skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing complex data to draw logical conclusions
  • Proficient in using Excel, SAP, TaxPrep, CanTax FormMaster
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
  • Results-oriented, demonstrating a can-do attitude with adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Collaborative problem solver who takes ownership of issues and drives to resolution
