With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world.We invite you to be part of our evolution.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Financial Business Support &+ Evaluations to join our North Atlantic Finance Analysis and Planning team. This position will report directly to the General Manager of FP & A NA and be required to work Monday - Friday onsite in our North Atlantic Operations centre located in Copper Cliff, Ontario.As The Senior Specialist, Financial Business Support & Evaluations, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing governance, tools and methodologies used by the NA operations as well as finance teams at the plant level
  • Development, coordination, execution, analysis, monitoring, and governance of North Atlantic Operations evaluations.
  • Leading finance discussions relating to business planning by leveraging technical expertise and financial knowledge of the overall operations and then reporting on the evaluation of options and financial metrics.
  • Coordination, execution, analysis, monitoring, and governance of operational financial evaluations.
  • Providing financial and technical expertise, advice, and recommendations to improve the overall North Atlantic Operations.
  • Leading the finance discussions for the business planning process.
  • Developing and maintaining a standard approach for updating the accounting documentation and processes
About YouEducation:
  • Undergraduate Degree is required.
  • P. Eng, CPA or equivalent certification preferrred.
  • MBA Preferred
Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with relevant knowledge in financial evaluations and metallurgical operational experience is preferred.
  • Understanding Cost Accounting fundamentals & unit costs
  • Understanding Mining business flow sheet (materials balance)
  • Understanding of Metallurgical processes
  • Understanding Operational budgets
Skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and organizational skills
  • Experienced decision-maker as part of a multi-functional team
  • Superior problem solving skills and experience working for a large multinational organization.
  • Strong mathematical and critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of contract terms
  • Ability to manage confidential business information
  • Ability to research, analyze and interpret complex financial data
  • Evaluating scenarios (understand volumes, costs, factors)
  • Work independently
