The Valuation and Risk Services team is looking for a Solutions Software Engineer to work with the Solutions Data Integration team to extend the strategic valuation platform for the global trading desks at TD Securities.

The Valuation and Risk Services team is responsible for the development and support of our derivatives (Interest Rate, FX, Credit, Commodity) valuation and trading risk platform for TD Securities. This green field project started utilizing the latest in technology, devOps and approach to deliver highly scalable technology solutions that facilitate all parts of our business. The core team is located in New York and Toronto with a presence in London and Singapore.

The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual who looks forward to being a strong contributor in a dynamic technology organization at a major bank. This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business, providing front to back pricing and risk metrics across a spectrum of FX, Fixed Income and Credit products. The candidate will be required to effectively leverage and extend the Valuation Services (VS) Veritas platform to implement valuation engine, integrate with downstream regulatory reporting, risk aggregation and P&L Attribution systems, both in an individual contributor and leadership role. The individual would be poised to represent the group well to external stakeholders, and possess the vision to make strategic decisions on behalf of the team. Additional requirements include providing a variety of related services for derived market data, trade data and other related data firm-wide.

Job Requirements

• 5-8 yrs of experience as a software engineer working on large scale development projects.
• Strong knowledge of core Java
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems
• Working knowledge of building Java services
• Experience working with ZeroMQ, Apache Kafka, Google ProtoBuf, JSON, REST services
• Solid understanding of Swaps, Bonds and P&L attribution
• Experience working on big data sets with bi-temporal support
• Engage, coordinate, and manage change across multiple groups
• Act as a leader to junior members of the team

Education
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.

• Consult on development of the System Requirements Specification (SRS).
• Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase, identify gaps or redesign as needed.
• Define metrics and performance goals with technology partners and peers.
• Respect TD\'s technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines, business technology architecture, and risk and production capacity - this includes thorough project requirements, documentation, scope estimates and costs.
• Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting milestones and ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget, and adhere to the corporate quality and security standards.
• Identify ways to minimize cost, play a role in introducing strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience.
• Conduct code reviews to address quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance, Operational Readiness Reviews, and support gating and review sign-offs for solution design.
• Support knowledge management processes and ensure knowledge is codified, monitored, tracked and managed.
• Ensure design leverages existing reusable components, traces back to business requirements, and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind.
• Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application ( e.g. cross-capability/release issues).
• Provide technical support to promptly resolve escalated incidents/outages.
