Role Summary

The Data and AI Platform team at Rivian supports developing and deploying Generative AI systems. We operate highly scalable infrastructure for serving and orchestrating LLMs, Vector Stores, and agents. As an Applied ML engineer, in this role, your responsibility is to deliver quality software and backend services, primarily focusing on the utility of Generative AI frameworks and exploring the bleeding edge of this new technology.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our Machine Learning engineers, product, and cross-functional teams to bring magical customer experiences through large language models.
• Own the development and deployment of Generative AI solutions for our commercial partners and customers by deeply understanding their workflows, writing integrations, and curating data and evals.
• Guide our model development by identifying new capabilities and evaluations that improve the overall product and inform our research roadmap.
• Building reliable and secure systems to power our web-based applications.
• Creating scalable production infrastructure so we can enable other engineering teams to build unique experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience iterating on products in an enterprise setting with cross-functional teams.
• Interest in and/or prior exposure to building with LLMs in production.
• Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages \xe2\x80\x93 Golang, Python, Rust, Java.
• Good foundation on Unix and bash. Some basic knowledge of Cloud networking is preferred.
• Foundations on Containerization \xe2\x80\x93 Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and Release Management.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for British Columbia Based Applicants: 104,000.00 CAD - 123,000.00 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
