Location: This is a hybrid role with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week in the Ottawa, ON office located at 40 Hines Rd, Ottawa, ON K2K 2M5.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer to work on Trend Vision One(TM) Platform (https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/business/products/one-platform.html). You will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting high-quality solutions for Attack Surface Risk Management on the platform.
Responsibilities:Work as a featured service owner, work closely with stakeholders, including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers, to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain robust and scalable solutions on Trend Vision One(TM) Platform Data Lakes and Lakehouse for Cyber Risk Exposure Management(https://www.trendmicro.com/en_ca/business/products/cyber-risk-exposure-management.html ) and CyberSecurity DigitalTwin (https://www.trendmicro.com/en_ca/business/ai.html).
Work on Trend Micro VisionOne data platform for volume data ETL, data correlation , risk assessment framework implementation, ML/AI application and digital twin modeling
Participate in on-call rotations to support and debug customer-reported issues as well as internally created service incidents.
Take time for learning and continuous improvement, with opportunities to learn and teach skills across teams.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with 2+ years of experience in cloud-native backend development, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Programming & System Design.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with the ability to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
Experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and event-driven design patterns.
Data Engineering & AI.
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark for batch and real-time streaming workloads, including optimization and production deployment.
Proven ability to design and manage large-scale data lake and lakehouse solutions that enable machine learning pipelines, AI-driven analytics, and big data processing.
Knowledge of graph databases and graph computing frameworks for relationship modeling, recommendation engines, and advanced analytics use cases.
Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and integrating AI agents using Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a plus.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevSecOps.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong grasp of DevSecOps: CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security enforcement, and observability.
Security & Risk Management.
Understanding of NIST Cybersecurity/Risk Management Framework, Cyber Risk Quantification (CRQ), and best practices in secure system design.
Mindset & Collaboration.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
Passion for continuous learning and applying emerging technologies.
