What will you do?
Provides work direction to and/or performs all duties of a Sr. Site Specialist to assure customer happiness. Monitors workflow to optimize staffing and services for customers. Works closely with customers, sales representatives/managers to ensure all service expectations are supported. Services may include the portfolio of services provided including order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glass wash operations. May also include lab-based tasks including media/reagent preparation and cell culture support operations. Acts as a liaison between customers, sales, suppliers, logistics and management using special system knowledge to ensure the success of customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in coordinating the staff and workload to meet or exceed efficiency performance standards for Unity Lab Services.
  • Provides functional supervision to team members by performing site coverage as needed.
  • May assist in the cross-training of associates and the training of new hires
  • Facilitates and develops team meetings, identifies training and site service personnel skills improvement opportunities, and reports to the supervisor.
  • Reviews site employee errors and trains/coaches so potential errors are eliminated
  • Independently makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements
  • Advises the workflow of the team in support of contractual obligations and in line with established standard processes
  • Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer and Thermo Fisher reports to ensure requirements of both parties are met
  • Demonstrates proficiency at capturing and explaining job or site-specific performance metrics.
  • Analyze and report out forecasting of items being purchased
  • Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of a site trainer and management team
  • Meets with customers proactively to help determine ongoing needs. Advises site employees of special customer requirements, resolves problems, and keeps employees advised of corrective action
  • Works effectively with a diverse, cross-functional team and timely raises any personnel issues to the supervisor
  • Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
  • Communicates effectively when meeting with Management, key collaborators, and customers face-to-face to provide outstanding customer service
  • Uses organizational skills to effectively perform Sourcing and Order Management tasks

Requirements

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher
  • Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientific\'s 4 I-Values
  • Proven excellence in customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, problem solver, promotes a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to serve the customer

  • Must deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
  • Must possess the operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary
  • Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Must be able to produce detailed excel reports
  • Able to build creative PowerPoint presentations
  • Demonstrates basic leadership concepts
  • Demonstrates initiative from previous work experience
  • Show concern for well being & success of others
  • Ability to provide suggestions for corrective action and preventive customer service
