For our R&D Team in Sankt Valentin (near Linz), we are looking for a Sr. Research Engineer - ADAS Perception (m/f/d).

As a key member of the Advanced Autonomy team, you are responsible for perception and sensing for autonomous driving applications. You focus on developing algorithms that cover the SENSE part of an ADAS system using classic and AI based models (perception, behavior, environment, ...) utilizing real world data and simulation generated data.
In addition, you support the R&D team with technical evaluation of technologies being considered by Magna.

Your Tasks

• Evaluation of technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineer-ing principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications
• Support the development of innovative components and modules from the initial concept phase through the complete development process including design engineering, validation, proto-typing, testing, and evaluation of the proposed production capable process and business case
• Design and conduct research programs; applying theory and principles of mechanics, thermody-namics, hydraulics, electronics, heat transfer and materials
• Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts
• Analyze engineering results and propose product changes to determine feasibility, improve-ment of components and systems and functional/performance specifications
• Correlate experimental data to simulation data
• Maintain innovation project schedule by monitoring project progress, co-coordinate activities, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements and resolving problems
• Specify requests and coordinate all sub-contracted work (i.e. S/W development, prototyping, validation, testing) and assures timely completion

Your Profile

• Strong experience in embedded software development in a technology area related to ADAS or Autonomous Driving, Robotics, or similar combination of education/experience.
• Previous background from research, Automotive OEM, Tier-1 or autonomous driving companies.
• Proficient in programming in C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.
• Proficient in programming python, opencv, scientific packages.
• Proficient in machine vision (classic an AI driven)
• Proficient in handling training and validation data, segmentation, and annotation process
• Proficient in sensor fusion and statistics

The minimum annual remuneration package for this position is EUR 60.000,- with corresponding qualification. The actual salary is higher and depends on your education and specific work experience.
