The Opportunity

Our Calgary office is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Professional Civil Engineer (P.Eng) to join our team, specializing in land development and municipal infrastructure projects in the Calgary region. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with strong project leadership and communication skills.

The successful candidate will bring at least 5 years of progressive experience in land development, including a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the Calgary area. Familiarity with local standards, submission processes, and municipal expectations is required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage complex land development projects from concept planning to detailed design and construction Prepare and review technical engineering reports, including: Stormwater Management Reports / Master Plans Sanitary Servicing Studies Water Modeling Studies Oversee preparation and coordination of Development Permit (DP) and Development Site Servicing Plan (DSSP) submissions in accordance with City of Calgary requirements Collaborate with clients, municipalities, consultants, and approval agencies throughout the project lifecycle Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists Conduct site reviews and attend client and regulatory meetings as needed Ensure compliance with municipal guidelines, engineering best practices, and APEGA standards

Qualifications

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with APEGA Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a primary focus on land development At least 2 years of direct experience working on projects in the Calgary region, with a strong understanding of local processes and expectations Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and multidisciplinary coordination Strong technical writing skills and proven experience preparing detailed engineering reports Proficient in: AutoCAD Civil 3D PCSWMM Water modeling tools (e.g. WaterCad, or equivalent) Microsoft Office Suite Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, solution-focused approach Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle
