The Sr Programmer Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software/system solutions required for improving the functionality and reliability of banking applications and services.

This competitively rewarded role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, in-person events or activities will be required of you.

A typical day would involve:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Stack.
  • Collaborating with business analysts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data accessibility, consistency, and reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and data privacy standards.
  • Engaging in SDLC processes, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring best practices and quality standards are met.
  • Addressing data-related problems in terms of security, scale, quality, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with data architect and data engineers on data models and data lakehouse organization and design.
  • Assist with validation and QA of data solutions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving production issues in a timely manner, providing support and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Actively participating in problem-solving sessions, proposing innovative solutions to complex data challenges.
  • Continuously monitoring data pipelines, conducting regular audits to ensure data integrity and performance.

  • Spectacular at communications: You can speak in business language to your business unit clients and are also fully conversant with technical terms and data platform technologies. It\xe2\x80\x99s effortless for you to translate back and forth between business and technical language.
  • Curious & innovative: You always do your research and analysis to assess and recommend a course of action. You can identify risks and opportunities that may impact the business unit and or designated area.
You have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with Information Systems exposure (preferably major) or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in on-prem and/or cloud data warehouse implementations
  • Thorough understanding of database, data modeling, and data warehouse
  • Proven experience with Azure Data Stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and methodologies.
  • A deep understanding of SDLC and its applications in data engineering projects.
  • Experience with regulatory data extraction standards such as CUDIC, BCFSA, AML, LCTR, etc.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with other data processing languages and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus points, if you have:
  • Related Microsoft Azure Certifications
  • Knowledge of PowerApps and Power Automate for process automation.
  • Prior experience in the finance or banking sector.
  • Knowledge of additional regulatory frameworks beyond the ones listed.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality tools.
  • Experience with Data Jobs support in production
Salary Range:$71,500-$107,300
