About the Role
Reporting to the Production Support Team Lead, the Sr. Production Support Engineer/Specialist is a key technical member of the production team. The Production Support Engineer/Specialist role is jointly responsible for production planning, daily technical support, incident investigation, benchmarking, embracing digitization and new ways or working.

You will use your expertise to:
Engage with the wider Production Team to build a strong and coherent operations culture.
Support Asset Management System work processes pertaining to Production (Ensure Safe Production (ESP), Forecast and Plan Production (FPP), Integrated Activities Planning, Permit to Work (PtW), Safe Isolations (SI), Management of Change (MOC), Perform Turnaround, Execute Strategic Asset Management Plan, Causal Learning)
Develop technical expertise across all areas of the facility and become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned area (LNG trains, Common facilities)
Support and participate in Operations procedure development.
SME for ESP, FPP, PtW/SI work processes
Support PER, LOD audits and provide input into ESP improvement planning to continuously improve the work process.
Responsible for development of Operations incident reporting capability, investigating, lessons learnt processes within the Production team.
Support connected worker and augmentation workforce vision for LNGC.
Support digital and data centric ways of working through leveraging new and existing solutions and identifying opportunities in line with the digitalisation journey.
Responsible for development of benchmarking plan to drive continuous improvement.
Develop Production Planning skill with usage of related production models/tools and databases.
Provide input to or develop the Annual Delivery Plan as required.
Support CSU activities and function as focal point for Production related issues resolution in assigned area.
Function as integrator across all the functions during CSU and initial start up period.
Jointly develop improvement programs with Engineering and Technology
Work with Technical Asset Operations (TAO) team for ESP support and KPI/dashboard development and management.
Identify use cases for advanced analytics and support data and innovation lead to develop business cases.
Support development of digital solutions with wider digital team
Lead by example in demonstrating excellent HSE and ESP compliance behaviours and ensure MOC process is followed when required.
Perform proactive technical monitoring (PTM) along with Disciplines to understand process unit performance, troubleshoot operating issues, and identify opportunities for improvement in assigned area.
Accountable for providing technical support for troubleshooting, daily optimization of facility, regulatory reporting, MOC, turnarounds, and coordination/escalation to engineering and technical team for assigned area.
Provide support to Brownfield Projects to ensure proper implementation and performance when integrated into existing operating units and systems.
Participate in Process Hazard Analyses to identify and assess Process Safety threats and develop recommendations to mitigate these threats.
Identify opportunities for Margin and Energy improvements and drive changes to capture these opportunities. Ensure optimization of energy and chemicals usage.
Coordinate benchmarking activities and provide data analysis and transparency to give visibility to leaders to make sound business decisions.
Identify threats to meeting the production plan and business objectives and develop and implement plans to mitigate these threats.
Support Technology and Engineering with MOC development and closeout.
Utilize sound Causal Learning methods for problem solving and determining root and contributing causes to unit upsets and reliability events.
Develop and present lessons learned from incidents to wider production and asset team.
Upkeep and continuous improvement of production department management system.
Facilitate continuous improvement and simplification of work processes by working with and seeking input from production and digital team.
Support continuous improvement and digitalization journey.
Based on business need, be a part of Emergency response organization as member of incident command team and qualify in ICS 300/220
MUST be a part of join the Plant Abnormal Situation Response Team during off working hours.
To be successful, you will have:
A chemical engineering degree or equivalent with minimum 7-10 years relevant industry experience, with demonstrated leadership skills and competencies.
Registration or eligible for registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
Knowledge in Hydrocarbon Processing, Utilities and Water treatment
Proven safety leadership skills, good understanding of HSSE CF/AMS requirements, track record in managing personal and process safety.
Good leadership skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization. Work together with/ align with other engineering disciplines for supporting operations shift teams.
Ability to assess process and deliver continuous improvement.
Ability to support and sustain changes.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to define issues, collect data and draw valid conclusions.
Strong networking and business relationship building skills is strongly desired.
Ability to keep calm under pressure, with an aptitude to for troubleshooting issues, tracking down resources, and coaching and mentoring the team
A positive, and open minded person with a 'can-do' attitude, able to make practical ALARP decisions and deliver safe and compliant operations

This role requires that you:
Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)

Know that this role is expected to be on call on a rotational basis during the year and/or during site specific situations.
During our Commissioning and Start up work M-F 10Hrs. per day, then change to 40Hrs per week 8 hrs. per day, in steady state
Ability to go to field approximately 40% of time in various weather conditions, walk up very high industrial stairs.
