AWS CloudFormation team is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Product Manager to join in the effort in driving the strategy and vision for CloudFormation. (see more here: https://aws.amazon.com/cloudformation/ ). As a Senior Product Manager on our team, you will have the chance to build next generation of management products for AWS. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced start-up like environment and want to invent the future. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to our customers. You will participate in developing the strategy and vision for the team, and you will develop and maintain product roadmaps and features based on team strategy and vision. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineering, design, operations, finance and executive teams to bring a consumer product to the market and develop and grow a new business opportunity for Amazon. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a start-up like environment, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality products and applications that customers love.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Define the roadmap of CloudFormation and adjacent services
  • Lead the definition, execution, and roll-out of features and customer-facing APIs – in collaboration with other product managers, software development managers, and engineers
  • Define the pricing for your services
  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories
  • Present the roadmap or individual features to customers, including at trade-shows and executive briefings
  • Bring services/features to market, including running Beta programs, collaborating with product marketing, working with industry analysts, etc.
  • Collaborate with and learn from world leaders in cloud computing and management services.

AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider–from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.

  • MBA or Master’s degree in a technical field
  • Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers
  • Experience delivering Enterprise products and services in a high growth environment
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people to manage and influence change
  • Experience coordinating complex product development cycles including hardware and software development schedules
  • Broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with web services, enterprise management tools and back-end application infrastructure
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of emerging disruptive technologies, like cloud computing, open source software, or software as a service
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive
  • 10+ years in the technology industry in a technical, product management
  • 3+ years’ experience hands-on with 1 or more public cloud provider
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences, with the ability to dive-deep on technical and architectural details with customers
  • Focus in one or more of the following: Security, Data Engineering/Analytics, Distributed systems architectures, DevOps
  • Experience writing code, committing to open source projects, understanding of the community mechanisms of open source projects
  • Expert level experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby, Go, C#/.Net, PHP #AWS-FF-PMT
