Rogers has an immediate opening for a Senior Platform Specialist within our Equipment Engineering Wireline team. Based out of our Rogers Brampton Campus (8200 Dixie Road), the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Equipment Engineering team, Network Planning Team, Network Implementation team and Provisioning Operations team, but not limited too other teams/departments contributing to projects.

The Senior Platform Specialist will support Detailed Design Packages (DDPs) from high level engineering plans and guidelines from the various Capacity and Planning groups under Networks Organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing guidance to Regional Coordinators for Window/Activity management and scheduling to ensure that window allocations and targets are met.
  • Support Regional Coordinators and Network Implementation on Access Projects.
  • Preparation and submission of detailed network equipment lists (MORs).
  • Assist in the coordination of timely delivery of materials to the project site.
  • Tracking projects to ensure deliverables are on schedule and on budget.
  • Generating purchase orders for contractors.
  • Remain current with the latest company and Industry Technologies, Policies and Standards.
  • Beware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.
  • Successful implementations for CMTS uplink augments.
  • Support Regional Network Implementation with remote connectivity to Access systems.
  • Assist the Network Engineering Team in creation of an Engineering Design Specifications to deploy the new CMTS uplinks.
  • Organize and submit the necessary tickets to execute the capacity augmentation work.
  • Lead the execution of work on the booked date and troubleshoot all technical issues to successfully complete the task.
What you bring:
  • Practical Equipment Engineering and Network Implementation experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint software.
  • Proficient with SpatialNet software.
  • Proficient with Remedy and Jira/Confluence software.
  • Proficient with Rogers Oracle purchasing and equipment status.
  • Excellent knowledge of Fiber installation, Headend Facility and OPE standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent Technical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Proficient in CLI & IP fundamentals.
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics or Telecommunications or equivalent industry experience.
