MCM Law LLP is a women-led commercial finance and realization boutique serving exclusively the needs of financial institutions, court-appointed officers, and private lenders on a broad range of matters including aircraft finance, lending involving Indigenous groups and lands, real estate construction and development, and most other areas of commercial finance, realization and insolvency.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr. Paralegal to join our growing team, supporting our Commercial Finance & Realization Law practice at MCM Law LLP. Reporting directly to the partner, this role is ideal for a proactive administrative professional who thrives in a collaborative work environment, assisting with document preparation, transaction coordination, and client communications.
Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation & Management:
Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, including loan agreements, security documents, and enforcement proceedings.
Transaction Coordination and Trust Accounting:
Assist with the closing process for commercial finance transactions, ensuring all required documents are properly executed and filed.
Client Communication:
Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel to facilitate smooth transactions and resolve inquiries.
Filing and Record Keeping:
Maintain organized case files (physical and digital) from opening to closing, ensuring compliance with firm policies and legal regulations.
Due Diligence Searches and Reviews:
Conduct and review due diligence.
Calendar & Deadline Management:
Track key dates, hearings, and filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
Billing & Administrative Support:
Assist with timekeeping, expense tracking, and invoice preparation.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate, commercial finance, real estate, or insolvency law. Or a 5 year equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office, legal practice management software, and electronic filing systems.
Attention to Detail: Ability to handle complex transactions with precision.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with a professional client-facing demeanor.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
Team Player: Works collaboratively with attorneys and colleagues to support the firm's success.
Confidentiality and integrity: typical when working with sensitive information.
