Who we're looking for:
As Sr Manager, NPE (non-production environmet) Engineering for the West Residential Ordering team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of all non-production environments supporting development, testing, and release activities.
You will optimize IT environments to maximize business benefit and efficiency, ensuring seamless delivery of code through the SDLC. This role requires close collaboration with application teams, release management, testing, and infrastructure partners to deliver robust, secure, and high-performing environments for Rogers' west residential BSS platform.
What you'll do:
Environment Set-Up & Management

• Lead the provisioning and management of development, test, and performance environments, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Establish and maintain environment management standards, including configuration-as-code practices and compliance with security policies.
• Oversee environment health through monitoring, patching, and scheduled upgrades, and act as the escalation point for issue resolution.

Deployment Automation & CI/CD

• Own deployment automation pipelines and support CI/CD practices across teams, promoting DevOps principles and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines follow best practices and enable efficient code deployment.

Issue Identification, Resolution & Risk Analysis

• Proactively identify and resolve environment-related issues impacting delivery timelines, and communicate status and risks to stakeholders.
• Conduct retrospectives to address recurring issues and drive long-term improvements.

Scheduling & Contention Management

• Manage environment scheduling, refreshes, and upgrades to minimize contention and maximize availability.
• Track and report on environment performance, availability, and incident metrics.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Relationship Management

• Partner with cross-functional teams including architecture, infrastructure, testing, and release management to support end-to-end delivery.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure environment readiness and alignment with business needs.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Lead initiatives to improve environment stability, automation, and efficiency, enhancing the overall stakeholder experience.
• Maintain and report on key operational metrics such as SLA adherence, system stability, and incident resolution times.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience in environment management or similar IT roles.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and external vendors in complex, multi-environment settings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of environment management practices, including configuration management, deployment automation, CI/CD tooling, and DevOps principles.
• Familiarity with ITIL, cybersecurity standards, release management, and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware), OS platforms (Windows/Linux), scripting (PowerShell, Bash), and application development (Java, .NET).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Working knowledge of networking, storage, identity/access management, artifact repositories, and middleware technologies (e.g., Oracle, WebLogic).
