Cloud technologies are at the forefront of the evolution of telecommunications networks. Roger\xe2\x80\x99s is seeking a skilled individual to lead our Network Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be accountable for leading a team to architect, deploy & manage the cloud infrastructure for the future of Roger\xe2\x80\x99s network systems & services. Network workloads are some of the most technologically challenging & demanding workloads to deliver and the successful candidate will have a strong understand of telecommunications network functions as well as private and public cloud technologies with a background in designing highly resilient & performant systems. You will also partner with key engineering primes to help design, on-board and deploy mission critical network functions that are essential to the delivery of Roger\xe2\x80\x99s services nationally.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the overall network cloud engineering practice at Rogers
• Develop & execute on the overall network cloud infrastructure roadmap, in year infrastructure projects
• Manage the life-cycle, capacity augmentation and deployment of private cloud infrastructure to support network functions
• Collaborate with technical leaders across Wireless Network Engineering, Cable network engineering and Operational Support Services (OSS) to ensure that the Rogers cloud infrastructure fulfills the needs of these business areas
• Assist various service engineering teams in designing, on-boarding & life-cycling their network functions onto the cloud environment
• Support security and audit requirements including disaster recovery & business continuity plans
• Continuously optimize and improve the network cloud infrastructure
• Evaluate tools & be responsible for automation, observability and self-serve tools for the cloud infrastructure environment
• Responsible for the overall leadership of the network cloud infrastructure team, including assigning tasks, managing workload, prioritizing requests as well as growing, evolving and mentoring the team to create a high-performance environment
• Establish & track performance against KPIs, SLOs & critical metrics such as regional performance, capacity availability, budget, deployment cycle-time, etc.
• Accountable for the physical and logical design & deployment of Roger\xe2\x80\x99s national network cloud infrastructure
• Off-hours support based on business needs

What you have:

• Extensive experience in IT or Network infrastructure & cloud services
• Deep technical understanding of VMWare, K8s\xe2\x80\x99(Kubernetes)
• Experience with modern, automated approaches to private & public cloud infrastructure
• Experience with critical cloud functions such as DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, SDN, infrastructure as code
• Strong DevOps tool knowledge such as Terraform, Github, CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure and application on-boarding is an advantage
• Exposure to incident management, change management & problem resolution
• Background in Data Centre, IT Infrastructure or network infrastructure
• Vendor management skills
• Able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
