Sr Material Handler

Job Description

Artistree-Mississauga
The Sr. Material Handler is responsible for transporting materials to/from trucks, containers, and racks; directing Warehouse Associates in their daily activities; conducts daily meetings and communicates safety, production, and other company updates. Attendance, as scheduled, is an essential function of the Sr. Material Handler job.

Major Activities



Materials



Load and unload trailers and containers and place boxes in the correct bin locations Pull purchase orders by the box as directed by the supervisor Participate in all physical inventories and cycle counts Cross-train into other positions and provide support to other production teams or functions as needed

Guidance



Direct warehouse staff and give instructions regarding daily activities

Safety & Organization



Maintain a clean work area for safe and efficient operation, including replenishment of supplies Follows all company safety policies; wears appropriate safety equipment, as needed

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities



Minimum Education



High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills



Proficient in MS Office, intermediate Excel skills

Minimum Type of experience the job requires



1 year Warehouse experience in manufacturing environment

Ability to use RF scan gun Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; convey and receive information effectively Detail-oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy Ability to accurately read a tape measure and ruler Use inventory software

Physical Requirements



Must be able to frequently walk, stand, and sit. Must be able to constantly lift up to 50lbs/23kgs from floor to overhead. Must be able to constantly push/pull using total body and upper extremities. Must be able to constantly bend and squat Must be able to frequently twist. Must be able to frequently reach overhead and horizontally. Must be able to comply with all safety-related standards and requirements, including the correct utilization of personal protective equipment. Work Environment



Ability to work with high noise levels and work around moving machinery Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment which is subject to dust and high/low temperatures Ability to work safely in a fast pace manufacturing environment
