The Team

The Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Technology & Operations (OCOO) is an established center of governance, oversight, and executive function at Scotiabank. We collaborate with the global Technology, Operations & Digital team, corporate functions and business line partners to support the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s digitization.
For Technology, Operations and Digital we manage structural cost efficiencies, risk and third-party risk management, Technology Strategy and Key Performance and Risk Indicators, Project Delivery, vendor management and the Operational Resilience Program.

Purpose


  • Contributes to the overall success of the Project and Portfolio Management Team globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team\xe2\x80\x99s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Owns architecture, design, and configuration of Clarity PPM instance at Scotia, including integrations to other bank applications
  • Manages Clarity PPM system to ensure system uptime requirements are met
  • Provides architecture and configuration support for any enhancements or changes to the system
  • Acts as liaison between bank and vendor on product technical strategy and direction.
  • Provides L3 support to help diagnose user reported issues.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Maintains Clarity PPM architecture and integrations to support bank requirements; Supports changes and enhancements to the architecture and evaluates the technical impact
  • Performs as data architecture SME in support of reporting requests.
  • Manages quarterly upgrades from vendor: assess impact, create/execute test, coordinates integration ecosystem
  • Manages relationship with the application teams which integrate with Clarity PPM (e.g. HR, Finance, Security)
  • Monitors & executes required admin/system maintenance jobs and processes
  • Manages all system environments and promotions e.g. dev/test/uat/demo/prod
  • Manages test planning and execution for quarterly upgrades
  • Communicates effectively to all levels of stakeholders, strong organizational, follow-up and priority setting skills.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank\xe2\x80\x99s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and Experience

Skills
:

  • Subject expertise with Project and Portfolio management tools like Planview, Clarizen One, Oracle Primavera p6, Asana, MS Dynamics 365, Micro Focus or similar (Clarity PPM experience in both classic and Modern UI version preferred)
  • PPM Tool configuration background in supporting enterprise use of data warehouse reporting, time tracking, ideas, projects, resource management
  • Strong background in IT project management processes for banking industry
  • Knowledge of SQL and XOG scripting to support custom jobs and processes
  • Experience in software dev lifecycle methods (agile, waterfall)
  • Customer-focused with track record of providing best solution for customer.
  • 6-8y of practical experience in IT software solution delivery
  • Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerBI, Visio, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Desire to learn with a positive attitude and a creative problem solver who can think outside of the box.

Education


  • Postsecondary degree in related field
  • Nice to have: PMP, ITIL, Prosci
