About the role We are looking for a leader in the underwriting and claims management field. This includes strategic planning, claim handling, insurance product development, broker relations, renewals, and efforts to improve the company\'s risk profile. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in insurance claims and underwriting, with the ability to connect tactical and operational initiatives to drive the profitability and growth of the organization. In addition, we are looking for someone curious and comfortable working with a blank slate to design a world-class insurance strategy.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop close relationships with RVezy\xe2\x80\x99s insurance broker and insurance carrier partners.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive insurance and risk management strategy to support business objectives and minimize overall exposure.
• Manage several daily aspects of RVezy\xe2\x80\x99s corporate insurance portfolio including, gathering policy renewal and midterm change information and reviewing binders and policies for accuracy. Collaborate closely with brokers, carriers, and other stakeholders in the design, negotiation, and renewal of insurance policies and products to ensure appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of claims, investigations, and resolutions.
• Develop and implement strategies to proactively identify and prevent fraudulent activities related to RV rentals
• Investigate suspicious transactions, including credit card disputes, to protect the integrity of our platform
• Collaborate with our engineering and product teams to enhance fraud detection systems.
• Assess and analyze the company\'s risk profile, using data-driven insights to recommend improvements and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Identify opportunities to optimize efficiency and enhance the user experience for both RV hosts and guests
• Oversee and manage insurance claim handling, ensuring efficient, fair, and timely resolution, while maximizing customer satisfaction.
• Manage the underwriting process, including product development and pricing, to promote profitable growth, cost efficiency, and competitive market positioning.
• Liaise with various internal departments and external stakeholders, including Finance, Product, Engineering, and CS, to ensure seamless integration of insurance and risk management initiatives within the organization.
• Develop and maintain operational and financial performance reports related to insurance and risk management for executive review.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to support informed decision-making and proactive risk management.
• Establish policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a strong risk culture and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing insurance and risk management team.
• The ideal candidate should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty, as well as demonstrating the ability to contribute individually when necessary.

Qualifications:
Competencies, skills, and attributes:

• Five or more years of experience in insurance, ideally both in claims handling and underwriting roles
• Strong understanding of fraud prevention strategies and experience in conducting fraud investigations
• Proven track record of leading and managing strategic insurance initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong expertise in working with insurance brokers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with relevant insurance regulations and industry best practices.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L dynamics.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach to work.
• Strong leadership skills

Location The role is default in-office with hybrid flexibility.
