About the role

This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 2 days on-site per week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.



As ATB's next Senior Manager, Investment Research and Solutions, this position offers a significant opportunity to drive the strategy, development, and enhancement of our proprietary manager research tools and platforms. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring our manager research capabilities remain best-in-class and directly support the needs of our investment advisory and portfolio management teams. This position necessitates senior-level expertise in manager selection, oversight and research, coupled with the ability to conduct rigorous due diligence. The role will also encompass execution support for intricate research projects and strategic initiatives, including providing product positioning, development, management and analytical support. The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-functional environment and possesses a deep understanding of investment products/ strategies and the competitive landscape.



We are actively seeking a highly motivated, seasoned, and results-oriented individual to assume a pivotal role within our dynamic Investment Management Product & Solutions team. This critical position is specifically situated within the Investment Manager Research segment, an area central to our strategic success and client offerings.



The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in the financial services or investment management industry. This role requires a deep understanding of investment manager research methodologies, and the landscape of investment managers.


Accountabilities
The Senior Manager, Investment Research and Solutions is pivotal to the team's success, encompassing a broad range of strategic and analytical duties. Key responsibilities include:
+ Manager Due Diligence and Selection: Lead the research, quantitative screening, qualitative evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of external investment managers and sub-advisors. This includes conducting site visits, analyzing performance attribution, and preparing comprehensive due diligence reports for the Product & Investment Oversight Committee.
+ Analytical Support, Oversight and Data Insight: Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to support product strategy and decision-making, including synthesizing and having oversight of performance data, conducting peer group analysis, and generating insights to guide development efforts.
+ Product Positioning and Messaging: Collaborate closely with the Product Development/Management and Marketing teams to develop compelling product positioning, key messaging, and sales narratives based on thorough market research and competitive intelligence.
+ Product Solution Scoping: Translate market needs and research findings into actionable product/ investment strategy concepts and solutions, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall investment philosophy and strategic objectives.

Skills, experience & requirements
5-7 years of progressive experience in investment manager research. Exceptional expertise in investment manager due diligence, monitoring, and selection processes. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in investment performance analysis and oversight (e.g., attribution, risk metrics). Preferred to have experience in supporting or leading strategic product research projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in developing clear and compelling product positioning and documentation. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Experience with Bloomberg, eVestment, Morningstar Direct and MS Office Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
