Overview
WorkSafeBC is committed to Indigenous reconciliation and is developing and launching an Indigenous Relations Strategy. We are looking to hire a Sr. Manager, Indigenous Relations, who will lead this new team and the organization through the strategy\xe2\x80\x99s implementation, guiding the various activities, advising senior leadership, and establishing and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, employers, and organizations.
This role may be for you if you have lived experience and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues combined with experience in social planning, relationship management, research and evaluation, policy development, and the formulation and implementation of major strategies.
In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll manage WorkSafeBC\xe2\x80\x99s overall approach in implementing our evolving strategic direction around reconciliation efforts and implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP), including obligations outlined in the Province of B.C.\xe2\x80\x99s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (BCDRIPA). You\xe2\x80\x99ll work collaboratively with divisional business units and act as an enterprise resource in implementing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s calls to action relevant to government agencies.

Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office. You may also occasionally travel throughout the province.
