Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.Reporting to the Director, Commercial Planning & Business Process Improvement, you will be accountable for the execution, support, and continuous improvement of the Commercial & Operations Planning (C&OP) processes and the tools used in this process, primarily, the SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) system. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across numerous teams in our Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash businesses, including Product Management, Operations, Sales, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics (TD&L), Data Analytics, Finance, and IT, to ensure the ongoing execution and continuous improvement of the Commercial & Operations Planning (C&OP) process.What you will do:

  • Own end-to-end accountability for the execution of aligned C&OP processes (on monthly/in-year, annual, and long-term cycles), leading a team of 3 employees ensuring stakeholders can deliver the outcomes needed via the processes, meetings, metrics, and supporting systems required to execute that process.
  • Deliver or ensure delivery of required inputs and outputs (such as executive summary forecast reporting) and key metrics for recurring, cross-functional tasks, meetings, or process steps in support of the C&OP process.
  • Enable and continuously refine cross-functional collaboration and information sharing in pursuit of a continuously improving C&OP process expected to result in additional value to the company.
  • Monitor, validate, and seek to improve results of the C&OP process and underlying tools on various key metrics such as planning / forecast accuracy. Utilize industry comparable targets to assess the impacts of changes and identify successes or areas that require further effort targeting value through areas that would be expected to return better performance on netbacks and volume targets.
  • Oversee training program for the 50+ C&OP stakeholders to ensure they are effectively trained in the tools and systems required for the processes success.
  • Support the development of the overall Commercial Policy & Procedure framework as it relates to the C&OP process. Ensure that all required artifacts are in place and maintained for the C&OP process.
  • Lead the team in the development and maintenance of documentation and training materials for C&OP processes and its supporting tools.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of C&OP process area\'s data and provide support for the planning system as well as collaboration & reporting tools to support the success of the process.
  • Steward the SAP-IBP planning software, including all enhancement planning, prioritization & delivery to stakeholders in support of Commercial & Operations Planning processes.
  • Develop strong relationships with Product Management, Operations, Sales, TD&L, Commercial Finance, Margin Accounting & IT as key stakeholders in the planning process.
  • Ensure continued and continuous development of the NPK business plans through tracking and challenging assumptions, risks, and opportunities

  • Post-secondary education with 10+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Passion for data and problem solving, driven by a high level of curiosity.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems & drill down to critical components to understand key drivers.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to focus on ensuring tasks and work is done correctly with an emphasis on balancing and reconciling when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple, concise, and easy to understand way.
  • Strong relationship building skills; able to drive cross-functional alignment, work collaboratively and effectively interact with other core business functions.
  • Significant experience with process documentation and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • High degree of personal ownership / accountability of all work products.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines & competing priorities with limited direct supervision.
  • Advanced Skills in all Microsoft Office applications with a high skill level in Excel.
  • Experience Working In SAP IBP, MSS, SAP, Power Query and/or Power BI, and SharePoint would be considered an asset.
