What you'll be doing
As a Sr. Mainframe System Programmer, OEM Software products you are responsible for providing technical direction and subject matter expertise for the OEM software products assigned to you. You will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, testing of your assigned products. Additionally, you will ensure all software products are configured for optimized performance within the z/OS operating systems platform. In this role you will adhere to CIBC compliance standards & established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. You will collaborate with other members of the mainframe engineering software team to review and define product maintenance schedules , roadmaps and release upgrades. Additionally, you may interface with application develop teams to implement new product features / functions. You will work with the mainframe engineering team during system upgrades and related software maintenance rollouts. Additionally, you will participate in annual disaster recovery testing exercises and provide expert software support for problem identification & resolution exercises for OEM software products. You will provide technical leadership, interpret complex information, and coordinate client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices. How you'll succeedTechnical Expertise - you will leverage your solid technology expertise to implement & configure mainframe OEM software products @ n-1 supported levels. You may participate in business case analysis exercises to determine business impact & costs associated with product migrations in our z/OS mainframe environment. You will help to ensure software is maintained at supported levels to avoid End of Support costs. Effective Communication - you will work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives, communicate effectively and patiently across technology teams to influence teams to adopt solutions to keep critical systems secure and operationally resilient. You will provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques, using IBM and ISV online tools for opening and managing problem report tracking and resolution. You will actively participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises, maintaining disaster recovery readiness of systems, and monitoring status of systems to proactively prevent issues from occurring. Relationship Management - You will collaborate with internal business partners in Application Development, Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Production Support to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives. You will work directly with Hardware and Software vendors on solutions, build your network, and deepen existing relationships. You will leverage your verbal, written, and presentation communication skills to build strong partnerships, while influencing participants to mutually beneficial outcomes.

Who you areYou can demonstrate a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in designing, configuring, implementing and maintaining OEM software products on the z/OS Mainframe platform. In addition, you also have expertise in SMP/E product installations related maintenance upgrades. You will review OEM software APARS & HIPHER PTF's to ensure your software products have the latest maintenance patches applied to ensure reliability and performance. Demonstrated ability to lead problem identification and resolution exercises while engaging external OEM software vendors. Solid expertise in monitoring the health and performance of the OEM software products in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex configuration. Good working knowledge of diagnostic tool such as : SYSView and OMEGAMON an asset. You put our clients first. You are Stress resistant in case of Major Incident and emergency situations.
