The Senior Financial Analyst, Ag Strategy is responsible for supporting the Sr. Director, Finance, and the Potato Operations Finance team in optimizing our cost structure, improving market competitiveness, and delivering North American Agricultural strategic objectives; this position is responsible for all financial aspects of NA Ag Strategy. The Senior Analyst plays a key role in understanding agricultural economics through examining data and statistics to model, understand, and make predictions of the agricultural market, including analysis of production, consumption, and distribution.

Responsibilities will include partnering with NA Agriculture functional leads, providing financial oversight to forward manage the business; include the assembly and analysis of financial data supporting the planning and decision-making processes that ensure profitability and sustainability of McCain Foods. This position identifies opportunities and risks and compares results to relative benchmarks. This position works collaboratively with others, institutes best practices, and challenges the acceptance of status quo demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Senior Financial Analyst has high visibility within the North American organization, working directly with senior leadership and Global Finance. This individual will excel in their ability to simplify financial storylines, and present data in a clear and structured manner. This role will also be a key leader in implementing our Ag-Sustainability strategy and achieving our Regenerative Agriculture objectives. Through analytics and reporting this role will provide comprehensive financial oversight to the Sustainability investments the NA business is pursuing supporting the strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Full understanding of agricultural systems
• Mapping of regional cost of production
• Modeling complete crop rotation farm income
• Competitive mapping of sourcing
• Tracking agricultural market systems and commodity exchanges
• Analytical support in agricultural strategy work streams
• Financial partner with Ag strategy group driving NA Ag strategy
• Partner with NA Ag function identifying cost savings initiatives
• Developing business cases in support of investments that drive savings

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in agricultural economics or economics
• Deep interest in agriculture, the natural environment and economics
• Preferred MBA, or Masters in Finance

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Systems and Excel skills (Access Databases, Queries, Pivot tables, etc.)

• Ability to analyze large sets of data and explain graphical representations
• Advanced Level Microsoft Office Applications
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• High analytical and scientific aptitude
