Ecommerce Accountant
to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in eCommerce accounting, payroll, and tax filings, who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounting operations for multiple eCommerce platforms, including Amazon, Shopify, and Walmart.
Reconcile sales, fees, and inventory data using
A2X
and integrate with
QuickBooks
for accurate financial reporting.
File GHT/HST returns
and handle
payroll tax filings
using
QuickBooks
for CRA (Canada Revenue Agency).
Process payroll, vendor payments, and manage expense reporting.
Check emails from CRA
, handle inquiries, and ensure timely responses to any CRA requests or notifications.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Track and analyze sales tax obligations and ensure compliance across various provinces and jurisdictions.
Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and manage daily accounting functions.
Prepare profit and loss statements specific to eCommerce activities.
Provide financial insights to help optimize operational costs, pricing strategies, and profit margins.
Assist with tax preparation and filing in coordination with external tax advisors.
Support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Qualifications:
CPA designation preferred
(or in the process of completion).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with Amazon sellers and eCommerce accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software
QuickBooks
and data integration tools like
A2X
.
Solid experience with
Shopify
,
Amazon
,
Walmart
platforms, and their financial systems.
Strong understanding of eCommerce-specific accounting challenges, including inventory management and sales tax regulations.
Experience filing
GHT/HST returns
and
payroll tax filings
through QuickBooks, and handling CRA communication.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic eCommerce environment.
Knowledge of other platforms like eBay and Etsy is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud accounting tools and eCommerce software integrations.
