Canada Goose is looking for a Director of Construction to manage all construction functions for the company, including new and existing stores, as well as oversee all facilities related issues. In this position, you\'ll lead a team of Construction Project Managers, Facility managers, General contractors, external consultants, and vendor partners.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Direct construction projects for Canada Goose stores Globally.
  • Oversee the project management for all construction and renovation activities.
  • Ensure that the stores are built on schedule and on budget, tenant allowances are collected in a timely manner, and warranty periods are well managed.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain budgets, regularly reporting to the team on our current budget standings by month and project.
  • Guarantee the on-time procurement of retail store fixtures, millwork, and other owner-supplied items and services to meet our store launch schedules.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external construction project managers, business partners, and service providers.
  • Support the Real Estate team by providing early input on LOIs, LODs, and work letters as new locations are reviewed.
  • Present accurate and timely construction cost estimates for real estate pro forma development.
  • Develop the work scope, budget estimates, and timelines for independent projects as needed under rigid budgeting parameters.
  • Support the Store Design team by providing collaborative input regarding space planning, storefront design and signage, and prototypical design elements.
  • Value engineer the design elements and work scope of projects to meet our budget constraints.
  • Review architectural drawings for accuracy of layouts, fixture plans, RCPs, signage, etc.
  • Review leases and construction exhibits, then negotiate landlord work letters to include our standard requirements.
  • Provide oversight on various retrofits and standardization projects.
  • Support miscellaneous construction tasks as needed.
Let\'s Talk About You:
  • Equipped with a bachelor\'s degree in construction management or other related field, or with the equivalent in relevant work experience
  • Backed by 15+ years of experience leading retail construction as a Director, as well as leading the budgeting of CAPEX projects or managing other significant budgets.
  • Understanding of the general requirements for building and maintaining retail spaces, plus the nuances associated with various retail environments including street locations, malls, lifestyle centers, and mixed-use developments.
  • Well-versed in the procurement processes.
  • A natural leader driven to motivate, develop, delegate, and make effective business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • A master time-manager who\'s able to handle multiple projects and work independently.
  • Highly computer literate and comfortable working within web-based project management systems for scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.
  • Confident leading and developing a department and its team members, including remote employees and external business partners.
  • Knowledgeable about the various disciplines within the store development process, from conducting market analysis to opening a store.
  • A clear, concise communicator with exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Comfortable determining necessary scopes of work under rigid budgeting parameters
  • Able to negotiate effectively with vendor partners on prices, SLAs, and performance.
  • A self-motivated problem solver with strong decision-making skills.
  • Skilled at resolving issues independently, collaboratively, and with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to manage vendors charged with activities related to the new-store development pipeline.
  • An empathetic team player ready to collaborate with employees, vendors, and customers alike.
Extra Credit:
  • Experience with Procore construction management software an advantage.
