This position can be primarily located in either Toronto (hybrid) or Ottawa (remote), Vancouver (remote) or Charlotte, NC (remote) depending on the successful candidate

What youll be doing

As a Senior Consultant, Vulnerability Management and Cyber Threat Assessment you will join CIBC's Vulnerability Management team to work with a group of security analysts contributing towards a shared vision - maturing CIBC's security posture. You will provide support focusing on the identification, assessment, communication, remediation and reporting of vulnerabilities impacting both internal and externally facing technologies. Your skills and experience will also provide guidance and support in the prioritization and assessment of risk associated with discovered vulnerabilities.

How youll succeed

Vulnerability Lifecycle Management- Through the use of various scanning tools, our asset management database, and intelligence feeds, you will be required to identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities. You will assess vulnerabilities to determine impact and overall risk, while engaging the appropriate remediation teams to close down or mitigate risk.

Research and Assess - You will research, evaluate, and assess emerging cyber security threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities from different sources.

Coordination - You will govern the vulnerability management process, which includes reaching out to and assisting remediation teams in vulnerability resolution, as well as engaging upper level management for support and escalations as required.

Communication - You will package and communicate risk advisories, reports, and management dashboards to effectively convey the state of newly identified, current, and outstanding vulnerabilities. Providing escalation support when necessary.

Analysis and Documentation - You will analyze product patch cycles and vulnerability information for Vulnerability Management processes. You will help Vulnerability Management (VM) Team maintain appropriate documentation that defines the Threat & Vulnerability Management Program, Policy and Procedures.

Continuous Improvement - You will provide constant feedback to management in regards to negative trends, areas of improvement, and required updates to policies and procedures.

Automation - You will automate vulnerability management processes to improve operation efficiency.

Projects and new initiatives. Support ongoing projects and initiatives to mature CIBC's security posture.

Who you are

You have extensive experience providing consulting within Vulnerability Management or Cybersecurity ideally 5 - 7 years of experience

You have good understanding and knowledge of products and services like Qualys, Mandiant, Tableau, ServiceNow (CMDB).

You can demonstrate experience in collecting, processing, analyzing and managing technology vulnerabilities.

You have good understanding of network and system defense components, TCP/IP and other common networking concepts and protocols, DNS, Networking concepts and devices, Operating system and database security, NIST cybersecurity framework.

Youre a certified professional. You have current accreditation in the cyber security domain. Nice to have: CISSP, CISA, CISM, GPEN.

You can demonstrate an ability to influence senior stakeholders in situations that require cooperation and consensus. You have the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions from group members, stimulate a focused group discussion, and achieve a desired outcome.
