What You'll be Doing

The Learning Strategy Manager is responsible for managing the initiation, execution and delivery of Private Wealth Management Advisory Programs, and providing coaching support to program participants.

The focus is to work with Private Banking, Wood Gundy, CIBC Private Investment Counsel, Wealth Planning group and Insurance, Trust and Estate Planning teams to help them in increasing the skill sets of their Advisors and Associates and their sales force effectiveness. The Learning Strategy Manager will also lead and/or support the implementation of new training initiatives aligned with our business.

How You'll Succeed

Provide leadership against Business priorities

  • Ensuring that business requirements are understood and implemented as per expectations
  • Lead a National onboarding training program to support the priority of talent acquisition across Canada
  • Support training programs for Wealth Advisors and Associates across Canada to help support priorities to deepen client relationships and market share.
  • Accountable for the timely implementation, delivery, evaluation, maintenance and ongoing enhancement of Advisory Programs in accordance with evolving business needs
Facilitate Advisory Programs and provide individualized learning support to program participants
  • Support learners and their leaders with program expectations, learning curriculum, progress and coaching as required
  • Provide facilitation, virtual, conference calls and synchronous training as required to new and existing learners within Private Wealth Management
  • Proactively and on an ongoing basis, identify opportunities for program enhancements, revamps and continuous improvements; and advocate for, propose and implement plans for delivering on these changes
  • Keep current on all issues concerning IIROC regulations and other education requirements
Lead or participate in firm strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects, as required
  • Program management skills required to lead and participate in multiple and diverse projects
  • Working with the, Practice Management and Training & Development teams, to explore innovative ways to deliver content.
  • Ability to prioritize, both at the strategic level, and on operational basis
Job Complexities:
  • Operate with considerable independence to identify priorities and address policy and program implementation and customization requirements.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and on complex projects comprised of internal and external partners and vendors and fostering strong relationships
  • Maintain current knowledge of the industry, Brokerage and Retail segments, and the complexities and characteristics of the business
  • Frequent travel within Canada
Who You Are
  • Highly developed knowledge of the wealth management business, with 8 to 10 years of experience in the Wealth Management industry
  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics, MBA is an asset
  • A CFP, CIM or CFA accreditation
  • Well-developed facilitation and presentation skills
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
  • Well-developed judgment and business acumen, decision making and problem solving skills with ability to interpret/adapt procedures and/or approaches to issues or concerns
  • Possesses the ability to identify business opportunities and implement successful strategies.
  • Requires awareness of business issues, processes, and outcomes as they impact Private Wealth Management and our clients.
  • May be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours during peak volumes, and/or to meet deadlines
