What you'll be doing
As a Sr. Consultant, Planning, Insight & Analytics in Fraud Analytics at CIBC, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert analytics across all channels. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of analytics solutions that drive strategies to mitigate fraud losses. Your responsibilities will include automating and reporting fraud losses, conducting timely root cause analyses to address discrepancies, and developing automated forecasting methodologies--such as hierarchical time-series models--to support proactive, data-driven decision-making.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeedProject Leadership - Lead end-to-end analytics projects, ensuring all reporting requirements are identified and met. Oversee the development of new dashboards and tools, monitor fraud trends, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance operational processes and outcomes. Innovative Problem Solving - Drive the continuous enhancement of complex analytics solutions and specialized reporting by applying innovative problem-solving and analytical thinking to address emerging fraud patterns. Ensure solutions are robust and aligned with business needs. Deliver expert analytics and strategic consultation by leveraging advanced data analysis techniques and data visualization to translate complex data into actionable insights. Business Direction & Strategic Support - Drive, advise, and facilitate critical decision-making for enterprise platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and optimization of platform performance and scalability. Predictive Modeling - Translate business challenges into quantitative frameworks, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models. Deliver advanced analytics solutions that enable the business to make informed decisions, and increase operational efficiency. Continuous Improvement - Identify and implement opportunities to streamline analytics processes, automate routine reporting tasks, and enhance the end-user experience. Provide expert advisory support on Fraud Analytics initiatives, ensuring recommendations are aligned with business objectives and remain relevant throughout the project lifecycle.

Who you areExperience & Industry Background. You have minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience applying advanced analytical techniques to drive business insights. Having 3+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry will be considered an asset. Education & Technical Skills . You hold a degree in data analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience in reporting and software development. Programming & BI Expertise. You have extensive experience using programming languages including SAS, Python, and SQL, as well as BI software such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, Alteryx, custom dashboards using core web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and backend frameworks. Data & AI Platforms. Practical experience with unified data and AI platforms (such as Databricks, SageMaker, or Snowflake), deploying solutions within cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and building forecasting or other machine learning models during full-time work are considered valuable assets. Storytelling & Presentation. You are a master storyteller. You possess strong presentation skills and you are confident in your ability to convey both factual and conceptual information.
