What you\'ll be doing

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be joining CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s CIBC Asset Management (CAM) Technology Group within Wealth Management Technology. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be at the heart of CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale Azure projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Senior Application Development Consultant, you will design, build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, agile solutions that enhance the client experience across multiple technologies including cloud. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications. The successful candidate for this role will be required to provide support after hours/weekends. This role will function in a hybrid work environment.

How you\'ll succeed

• Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions
• Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank\xe2\x80\x99s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
• Leadership skills - Act as the development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

• You can demonstrate experience in: Proven experience in architecting, design and deploying Azure data solution with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL or other Azure data service. Experience designing and developing data flows on Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse leveraging a data lake ELT approach.
• Proven experience on design and deploy data platforms within the Cloud adoption framework for data landing zones.
• Perform requirements analysis, design, and prototyping for data solutions.
• Provide oversight and guidance to platform, data, BI and development team.
• Development, review, and revision of best practices for technical implementation and development and communication to supporting delivery resources.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps and Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau .
• Communicate efficiently and with deep technical knowledge regarding concepts and best practices of the end-to-end data platform and architecture.
• 8+ years of relevant professional technology experience.5+ years of experience in a data transformation language like SQL.
• 5+ years of working experience with SQL Server, data warehousing and data analytics projects and 3+ years developing, deploying, and testing data platforms in Azure or other cloud provider.
• 2+ years of experience with version control and DevOps. 1+ years infrastructure as code development on Azure (ARM, Bicep, Blueprints).
• Minimum of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience.
• Nice to have: MS Certified: Data Engineering Associate /MS Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
