What Youll Be Doing.

The Sr. Consultant, ALM Treasury is responsible for accurate measuring and modelling of Structural Interest Rate Risk and support of the related management and hedging processes. The Sr. Consultant, Treasury will implement models for interest rate risk measurement and balance sheet modeling and help manage monthly and quarterly processes and related tasks. In addition, the role will be supporting senior management in managing of structural interest rate risk (SIRR), which impacts the banks net interest income and economic value, within the context of delivering consistent and sustainable earnings. The Sr. Consultant, ALM Treasury will closely collaborate with other members of CIBC Treasury to apply ALM tools to provide understanding of Interest Rate Risk dynamics. As the member of this team, you will manage by setting appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the Asset and Liabilities Managements priorities and Treasury/CIBCs overall goals.

How youll succeed

  • Develop model configurations for all material products on the balance sheet, including banking book product such as loans and deposits and investment portfolio products
  • Demonstrate leadership and effective team management by providing coaching, supporting and knowledge sharing to the team
  • Build relationships with our internal stakeholders, providing your subject matter expertise to inform and support decision making
  • Demonstrate understanding of process flow and data elements required for appropriate capture of Structural Interest Rate Risk

You have a keen interest in the Treasury function, Assets and Liabilities Management, and you have solid knowledge of financial products across all asset classes. including Wholesale and Retail banking instruments. You have strong experience preforming data analysis, understanding data patterns and trends, as well as resolving and troubleshooting data integrity, reconciliation and reporting issues.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information through data analysis, understanding data patterns and trends, as well as resolving and troubleshooting data integrity. You're confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Banking experience preferably in a Treasury, Finance or Risk role.
  • Its an asset if you have the following: advanced capability using Microsoft Excel; experience working with QRM. You have a degree/professional qualification in Finance or Accounting related fields (CA, CFA, FRM).
