What You'll Do

The Senior Communications & Media Relations Specialist will lead and execute all investor, internal, channel, and event communications as well as drive our earned media strategy. As an influencer position, this role requires a senior professional who has experience collaborating with executive teams to drive clear and concise messages that support our brand and align with the work of the Strategic Marketing team. To succeed in this role requires strong judgement, professionalism, and a strong track record of asking the tough questions. This role will report directly to our CEO, with a dotted line to the Chief of Staff and Senior Manager of Strategic Marketing, whom this role will work very closely with. This role will work hand-in-hand with the Strategic Marketing team, while collaborating with other DIRTT leaders, the Partner Success team, and our Legal team. Day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage, and execute a communications calendar related to investor, internal, channel, and event communications
  • Support external marketing-focused communications including social media management and monitoring
  • Create and execute earned media strategies, manage media interaction, and advise the leadership team on external relations
  • In alignment with our Strategic Marketing Manager, ensure consistent brand execution internally and externally across owned platforms, news outlets, speaking opportunities, etc.
  • Participate in all branding discussions alongside the Strategic Marketing team to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Draft sensitive and confidential information on behalf of the leadership team
  • Provide day-to-day communications support for teams throughout DIRTT, including operations, commercial, technology, product development, and talent
  • Understand reputation management and provide advice and support for issues management and crisis situations
  • Set metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of public relations activities

What You'll Bring

  • Post-secondary education in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive and focused communications experience
  • Experience working with executive leadership and boards of directors is a must
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • You?ve written for various brands and audiences. You can develop content that speaks directly to a diverse range of people, industries, and demographics
  • Sharp business acumen that underpins your ability to navigate competing demands and complex situations
  • International media relations experience for B2B organizations
  • Thrive under pressure and excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and are great at managing projects from start to finish
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint
  • Experienced with all social media platforms
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information while exercising sound judgment and professionalism at all times
  • Experience with issues management and corporate crisis communications
  • Skilled at gathering, interpreting, and distilling information from a wide range of sources
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
