About this Opportunity:

As a valued team member, you will work alongside your colleagues to bring civil, marine and commercial development plans to reality. You will directly report to the GM of Construction who will instruct you on your daily tasks. Those tasks will primarily consist of industrial carpentry including forming, framing, floors, site/building layout and verification of construction as per drawings and specifications. The position will require leadership of small crews including apprentices, skilled labourers etc. to help develop their skills and ensure a safe, productive worksite. Job sites are primarily in the Kingston and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

On-site project management and supervision. Reports directly to the Project Manager. Track and report daily progress through standard processes. Supervise and direct carpenters, helpers and subcontractors when required. Read and interpret drawings. Prepare layouts using measuring tools. Measure, cut and assemble materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, interior and exterior framing and roofing systems. Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, mouldings, hardware Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites. Carry, place and install rebar, dowels and rock anchors. Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

Qualifications/Experience:

8 - 10 years carpentry experience minimum. 3 years experience leading a small construction team. Strong leadership and relationship building skills. Good judgment, sound decision making, motivated and self-directed. Professional work ethic, reliable, positive attitude Punctual and reliable. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: Effective communication and listening skills. Ability to read and analyze construction drawings. Good communication and organizational skills. Valid G driver's license

Expected Wage & Benefits:

Salary range $25 to $38 an hour. Benefits package, RRSP matching.
