The role is hybrid out of our Toronto or Boston offices.

MIM\xe2\x80\x99s global real estate team (\xe2\x80\x9cGRE\xe2\x80\x9d) manages over 73 million square feet of real estate assets globally on behalf of our clients, including Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s general account. GRE is responsible for enhancing client portfolio value and performance by driving comprehensive portfolio and property-level strategies. Our team is expanding its real estate capabilities to meet evolving market opportunities and build a strong and diverse global culture as an entrepreneurial investment manager.

Working as part of the Global Real Estate Operations team (\xe2\x80\x9cGREO\xe2\x80\x9d), the Sr. Associate will be accountable for management portfolio reporting, workforce performance reporting, request-for-proposal (\xe2\x80\x9cRFP\xe2\x80\x9d) responses and other important operating activities.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and deliver management reporting and analysis for portfolio managers and leadership team.

Perform quarterly management reporting and fund-level portfolio analytics

Perform key metrics reporting including leasing, occupancy, and weighted average lease term reporting.

Assist in global oversight of third-party property managers.

Capacity and performance reporting for the Asset Management Oversight Committee.

Other initiatives and special projects as required.

Support reporting and analytics for business development initiatives.

Support of the GRE data definition dictionary and benchmarking.

Perform portfolio data validation for investor RFPs and questionnaires.

Assist with projects, analysis, and new initiatives.

Lead new property technology initiatives and implementations.

Perform business case analysis for new platform technologies.

Support the roll-out of new technologies.

Act as business side subject matter expert for GRE technology applications.

Coaching, mentoring and subject matter expert.

Train new collaborators and users on GRE technology applications and process.

Form relationships and collaborate closely with internal clients, senior leadership, regional teams, and external partners.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:

  • Minimum 5 years in a real estate operations role at a real estate investment manager.
  • Strong financial analysis background and ability to bring best practices from previous experience. Understanding of property accounting processes related to leasing, building expenses and capital expenditures.
  • Knowledge of Yardi Accounting System.
  • Ability to manage many different sets of collaborators. Excellent collaboration and good relationship management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills - verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to process large amount of paperwork / documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts related to leasing, building expenses, and capital expenditures will be highly regarded.
  • Skills in troubleshooting, understanding how to source information from our database systems and the ability to access building financials and leasing information from accounting/real estate systems.
  • Ability to travel within Canada, the United States and Asia on a limited basis.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $82,500.00 CAD - $148,500.00 CAD
