What Data Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Engineering ensures raw data is usable and accessible for the organization. Data Engineering encompasses numerous specialties of data acquisition, integration, and provisioning.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Python, SQL, and data modeling preferred
• BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and shell scripting
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or GCP
• Basic level BI dashboarding experience (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve

• Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines that extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse
• Create and maintain data models that ensure data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility
• Develop and maintain automated data pipelines and data processing workflows
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to identify and implement machine learning algorithms and models that extract insights from our data
• Create data visualization utilizing complex data to provide meaningful insights
• Design and maintain databases that support our data processing and analytics needs
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with data regulations
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability
• Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure, processes, and workflows
