We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Health & Safety Programs and Projects to join us in the exciting work we do in Energy Infrastructure. You will work with. It\'ll be your responsibility to coordinating the development, implementation and sustainment of the organization\'s strategic health and safety programs and initiatives. In this position, you also get to steward the development and continual improvement of H&S standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training to support compliance, organizational culture, and advance H&S performance.

What Else You Get To Do:

  • Lead strategic health and safety (H&S) projects and initiatives
  • Develop project charters, project schedules and project management plans
  • Provide support and guidance in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of H&S programs and develop change management plans
  • Steward the H&S Program Management of Change (MOC) Process
  • Serve as an occupational health and safety (OHS) authority resource to functional groups
  • Guide the organization on legislative requirements, standard processes, industry trends, H&S innovations and technologies, and risk treatment strategies
  • Develop H&S campaigns and communication resources
  • Lead and coordinate the Energy Safety Canada Certificate of Recognition (COR) maintenance process
  • Interpret business needs and translate them into practical operational solutions
  • Monitor H&S performance and analyze trends
  • Identify H&S cultural and behavioural improvement opportunities and provide recommendations for achieving positive change
  • Support the progress of internal H&S training courses as well as Facilitate hazard and risk assessments
Who You Are:
  • Minimum Undergraduate degree required. Preference for education in business or commerce, OHS, risk management, safety engineering, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 10+ years of OHS experience in the energy sector \xc2\xb7 (Energy storage, power generation, oil and gas operations, chemical operations, midstream operations, industrial construction, renewable energy operations, etc.)
  • Professional certification from a recognized, professionally governed body is required - such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner (CMIOSH), Certified OHS Professional (COHSProf) or Chartered OHS Professional (ChOHSP), Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), or other equivalent national or internationally recognized OHS certification.
  • Dynamic experience with H&S management systems and core programs such as risk management, incident management, emergency management and business continuity, safe work management, occupational health and wellbeing, supplier/contractor management, and H&S assurance
  • Advanced experience in developing, implementing, assessing, and sustaining H&S Programs
  • Ability to effectively liaise with business partners, external collaborators, and regulatory authorities
  • Dynamic experience developing and delivering training
  • Experienced knowledge of the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation Code, COR Program certification, and other applicable municipal, provincial, territorial, or federal legislation
  • High level of proficiency using HSE-related management software, databases, and applications
  • This role is a safety-sensitive position (SSP), and as a final condition of qualification for the role, an applicant will be required to pass an alcohol and drug test.
  • A valid Alberta driver\'s license (Class 5) and an acceptable driver\'s abstract review are required
