We are looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst who will provide accounting support to our Environmental Commodities team whose responsibility is to manage Suncor\'s renewable fuel and GHG emission reduction requirements through supply and optimization activities, leveraging operational and commercial opportunities.Minimum Requirements:A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably Accounting, Business, or Finance, with minimum of 7 years of related experience in energy industryA Financial Designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principlesProficiency in Power BI, Excel and other Microsoft Office programsWorking knowledge of SAP S4, SAP Fiori, Triple Point (TPT)Proven analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to communicate complex information into meaningful insightsHighly motivated self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team-based environment to deliver results within fixed reporting deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsResponsibilities:Be a key finance partner for Environmental Commodities team in ST&O: understand key business value drivers and performance metrics providing insight to the businessGain deep understanding of different provincial and federal emission programs and their accounting implicationsExecute Emission Accounting month end cycle, including preparing journal entries; month end analysis and reporting on 3rd Party and intercompany transactions and Balance Sheet positionsWorking closely with Accounting Policy team to ensure the correct accounting treatments for new deals and various regulationsIdentify and collaborate with other stakeholders on continuous improvement, ad-hoc initiatives and non-routine requests for financial information and analysisCoach junior team members and involve with reviewing their workAct as a key finance representative and provide hands-on oversight on Emission related projectsLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 \xe2\x80\x93 6th Ave S.W.Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to FridayOur business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of workWhy Suncor?Suncor\'s operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company\'s Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada\'s Electric Highway\xe2\x84\xa2, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
