Your responsibilities

- Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Complete other projects as required

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives

- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

- Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Prepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts

- Ready monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

Requirements

- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- Strong time management and organizational skills

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience

- General familiarity with Year-end Audits

- Well-founded grasp of Cash Flow Analysis

- Proven knowledge of variance analysis

- Sage 300 experience desired

- Strong familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements

- Foundational knowledge in Ledger Account Reconciliation

- Monthly Journal Entries experience highly desired

- Yardi Property Management experience required

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- A level of proficiency in financial reporting is preferential to this role

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired

- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
