There\'s currently a long-term contract / temporary opportunity in the Real Estate & Property industry at Robert Half for an experienced Senior Accountant with an eye for accuracy and a knack for solving complex problems. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Major responsibilities

- Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests

- Other projects as necessary

- Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Arrange monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives
- Experience with ERP systems

- Ability to meet deadlines

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired

- Proven ability to work and communication well with manager-level associates

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- General familiarity with Residential Mortgage Lending

- Practical knowledge of residential mortgages

- Proficiency in bank reconciliations

- Proven knowledge of account analysis

- Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel

- QuickBooks experience

- Construction Cost experience

- Command of account reconciliation

- Well-founded grasp of cost analysis

- Quality experience with construction project accounting

- Experience with general ledger

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience

- Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

- Skilled in financial reporting

- Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
